By Shouab Mehmood

WWFC sign a 1 year deal initially

The recent sponsorship deal with the Learning Skills Council (LSC) has seen Walthamstow Wanderers, attract many new players to their training sessions at Leyton Score. The sponsorship has also enabled the club to build upon its reputation locally as on Friday 25th Jan 2008 the Wanderers attracted a record 22 people to train alongside the team. Out of the 22 who attended 17 were registered players; this shows the club is making a positive contribution towards the young people who live in surrounding areas to stay active and healthy.

Although the team currently lye bottom of the Premier League, their hopes of rebuilding the club with new young players will definitely see them challenge for honours in the following season.

Walthamstow had seen their first victory of the season against Barking Tigers on the 20/01/08 and this triggered a more enthusiastic and determined approach to training. Although the team hasn’t had the luck of results it can be said that team spirit is definitely on the high. The Sponsorship deal with the LSC has provided stability to the club as well attracting young players to take part in a healthy regime. The club is determined to focus on delivering results and an excellent football environment in the future for members/non members. Team Coach Ray has recently achieved a FA level 3 badge and is determined to provide an atmosphere where team work is the central core. He further commented that he needs all players to continue to attend training sessions and give their 100% to get more out of the session.
